Our Everyday Makeup Bag Essentials

Hi guys and welcome back to our blog. We’re sooo sorry for being such bad bloggers but we promise we have lots of new posts planned and we won’t leave it this long again!

Today we’re talking about what’s in our makeup bags. The bits and pieces that we always carry around in case we need to touch up or top up our makeup on the go. Hope you enjoy it!

Urban Decay De-Slick powder – When I first got into make up, I went to Urban Decay and picked this up, and I’ve only just rediscovered it years later. It soaks up the oiliness from my skin and leaves me looking matte but not powdery.
I apply this with my Urban Decay Powder Brush (J3B) throughout the day.

Kiko Milano Flawless Fushion bronzer powder (05) – this has a lovely subtle sheen to it, but I’m thinking of going back to Bobbi Brown bronzer or Benefit Hoola as something more matte for the winter months.
I apply this with Real Techniques multi task brush.

My failsafe Seventeen Va Va Voom waterproof mascara – my eyes are so watery, especially in the cold weather, so I will not be switching this up any time soon. You can read more about why I love it here!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer for under the eyes just to lightly brighten up throughout the day.

NYX lip liner in Nude Suede which I don’t wear day to day at work, but if I want to make more of an effort it’s good to have this around.

Avon Ultra Colour Absolute lipstick in Kiss Me Pink (now discontinued) which is a corally pink, I will probably change this for something a bit more autumnal. Any reason to go shopping!

Soap & Glory Sexy Motherpucker XL Extreme-Plump lip gloss because we all need a lip gloss on hand and I love the way this one feels on the lips!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. Can’t live without this for my lips! It’s also good for dry spots like elbows or little patches.

I always carry my Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in Medium Light around with me. I talked about this in our 2015 Favourites post so check that out for more on this concealer. It’s great for touch ups throughout the day and gives my midday makeup a new lease of life.

I was given this gorgeous limited edition Mac palette as a Christmas present and I absolutely love it. I use the colours Mystery and Night Whisper on my eyebrows, but I keep it in my makeup bag so that I can create a nice eye look if I find myself going for unexpected after work drinks!

Kiko Radiant Fusion Baked Powder – This is a makeup bag essential for me as I have quite oily skin. Applying this a couple of times throughout the day stops my skin from looking too oily but leaves a slight glow.

My current bronzer of choice is NARS Casino. It was a birthday present from Amy and it has become a firm favourite (thanks Amy). I don’t often top up my bronzer throughout the day but it has a big mirror in it which is handy and it’s always a useful thing to have with me just in case.

The Body Shop Hemp Lip Conditioner – This is the best lip balm I have ever tried so I make sure I always have this in my makeup bag so I can reapply throughout the day.

I like to carry perfume with me so I can freshen up throughout the day. Rather than carry a full glass  bottle in my handbag I decant my perfume into an atomiser. My current favourite is Flora by Gucci.

The last thing I always have in my makeup bag is a hand sanitizer. I’m currently using one that I got in a Birchbox by a brand called Merci Handy. It’s in the scent ‘Flower Power’ and it smells amazing!
